2017 Super Hero Run

GRMC Healing Garden, Reed Street between 3rd and 4th Avenues
Race Course: Begin at the GRMC Healing Garden. The 5K will travel on paved roads, gravel road, and park gravel trail.
Awards: Prizes to top female and male in each age bracket, plus best superhero costumes.
Registration: Registration online open now, until October 5. Registration on the day of the event begins at 7:15 a.m.
Packet Pick-up: Runners and walkers may pick up their packets on Sunday, Oct. 8, beginning at 7:15 a.m.
Race start: The 5K will begin at 8 a.m. The Family run/walk will begin at 8:45 a.m. Awards will be announced at 9 a.m. Timing by The Open road Chip Timing company. Results will be posted on FitnessSports.com.

Parking: Runners may park in the GRMC visitor and employee lots, Light Center for Community Health lot, and Family Medicine parking. Do not park on Reed St. between Fourth and First Avenues.
Water/Refreshments: A water station will be located at the half-way point in the 5K race. Snacks will provided at the end of the race. In addition, the Grinnell Fire Department will be hosting their annual Pancake Breakfast at the fire station, 1020 Spring Street, from 6 a.m. to noon. Event participants are welcome to enjoy breakfast at the fire station. Freewill donation.
Proceeds from this event will support the purchase of medical and wellness equipment at GRMC.

RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY
I release, waive, discharge and covenant not to sue Grinnell Regional Medical Center, any corporate or individual sponsors of the Superhero Run, and/or any of the directors, officers, members, employees and representatives of these entities (collectively, “Supporters”), for any liability, claim, or cause of action arising out of or related to any loss, damage or injury, including death, that occurs as a result of my participation in the GRMC Superhero Run.
I have voluntarily decided to participate in the Superhero Run and I am participating at my own risk. I further understand the Superhero Run may include significant physical exertion, including among other things running on gravel, trails, and city streets, which may cause physical injury, and that that I am the sole person to determine whether I am capable of participating in the Superhero Run.
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Supporters whether injury is caused by my negligence, the negligence of Supporters, or the actions of any third party. I further agree that this Release and Waiver of Liability shall bind the members of my family, spouse, and my heirs, assigns and personal representatives, if I am deceased, and shall be deemed as a release, waiver, discharge and covenant not to sue Supporters.
In the event that I am physically injured or otherwise require emergency care, I give permission to Supporters to secure from any licensed hospital, physician, or medical personnel any treatment considered necessary for my immediate care. I agree to be responsible for payment of any and all medical services rendered.
This Release and Waiver of Liability shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Iowa.
By signing this Release and Waiver of Liability, I state that I have read and understand the conditions set forth, and that I agree to all conditions set forth herein, and that I sign this voluntarily.
