GRMC’s goal is to prevent the spread of pandemic influenza. Therefore, GRMC staff shall follow appropriate infection control procedures to protect the health of those we serve.

To accomplish this goal, basic principles apply:

1. Limit contact between infected and non-infected persons
2. Protect persons caring for influenza patients in healthcare settings from contact with the pandemic influenza or avian influenza virus.
3. Contain infectious respiratory secretions.

GRMC has a plan to handle pandemic flu which is guiding our response to the swine flu outbreak. Individuals who have multiple symptoms of swine flu should contact their healthcare provider for care.
