Cellular Telephones

GRMC allows cellular phones in the medical, surgical, and obstetric units, as long as staff have not limited usage due to interference with equipment.

Patients may bring their cellular telephones and chargers for usage, with a few exceptions. In the Intensive Care Unit, cell phones are limited. They may disturb the technical instruments used to monitor patients.

Landline telephones are available in each medical, surgical, and obstetric room. Friends and relatives may call into patients. The general switchboard number is 641-236-7511.

Long Distance Calls

Inpatients who need to call long distance must use phone cards, credit cards, collect charges, or third-party billing. Phone cards are available in the gift shop.
