Leading The Way...

GRMC is one of a handful of U.S. hospitals chosen to participate in a federal study to examine how changes in communication style and teamwork can improve patient safety. Known as “TeamSTEPPS,” this two-year project examines how trainees learn, retain, and sustain enhanced communication techniques and behaviors.

The GRMC Story

Todd C. Linden, GRMC’s president and CEO, talks about your hospital and how it is vital to our community, our health, and the health of our neighbors. He also provides an overview of GRMC’s story in 2008.

40 Years and Growing

Over our 40 year history, GRMC has performed extraordinary acts of kindness, compassion, and love. In celebration of our anniversary milestone, GRMC published a history book. Available for purchase at www.lulu.com/grmc, this history book documents the rich history of healthcare in Poweshiek County.

In honor of the 40th anniversary of the merger of St. Francis and Community Hospitals into what we now know as Grinnell Regional Medical Center, we also raffled a sports car. Andrea Martin, of Montezuma, will remember GRMC’s 40th anniversary as the time she won a 2008 Pontiac Solstice. GRMC also hosted a gala event to celebrate the anniversary.

Our anniversary provided a moment to look at our past—the physicians who cared for us, the renovations and expansions developed to meet patient needs, the community leaders who guided our progress, and the staff who cared for our friends and neighbors. We have much to be proud of in our past and much to look forward to.
